Here is an overview of key transitions on our senior leadership team.

Omer Gajial, EVP and Chief Merchandising & Digital Officer, has decided to leave Albertsons Companies to take on new opportunities outside the company. He will be available to our teams through late August. During his five years with us, Omer developed talent across high-performing teams to grow our digital, ecommerce and pharmacy businesses, expanded our health and wellness solutions, and advanced our merchandising and retail media capabilities – areas key to our success. We thank Omer for all he has done and wish him well as he pursues a new chapter in his career.

Michelle Larson will transition into the role of EVP, Chief Merchandising Officer, from her previous role as EVP, Operations – West. She will have accountability for Own Brands, Merchandising Strategy including Category Excellence, Merchandising Services including Pricing & Promotion and Space Planning, as well as Fuel and Commission Income.

Jennifer Saenz will take on a broader role as EVP, Chief Commercial Officer. In addition to her current Pharmacy and Ecommerce Operations responsibilities, her expanded role includes many of the growth-driving areas of our strategy, including Digital Experiences, Marketing & Loyalty, and the Albertsons Media Collective.

Anuj Dhanda will expand his role as EVP, Chief Technology & Transformation Officer, to include our Data Science team and Product Management teams.

Mike Withers will expand his responsibilities and will be EVP, Operations – West. The West Region now includes the Northern California and Southern California Divisions.

Rob Backus will continue in his current role as EVP, Operations – East.
