It All Started in 1933
In 1933, Ben and Dorothy Haggen and Doug Clark founded Haggen in Bellingham, Washington with $1,100. Their passion for innovation, premium quality and freshness, support of local farmers, ranchers, fisheries and other businesses continues to bring the very best to Haggen customers to this day.
Through the Years
At Haggen, we pride ourselves in innovation and providing excellent service to our guests. In 1941, Haggen had the first in-store scratch bakery. In the 1950’s, we offered a self-service meat department and was a leader in the industry selling health and beauty care products. Today, we continue to provide innovation in all our departments, sourcing premium quality products from local sources and from around the world.
